1:00 - 4:00 pm

Register your "creative writer want-to be" now for a fun-filled 2-Part Writer's Camp.  Email Granny for an application - but hurry - only 16 children can participate!  This is the Magical Mystery Box workshop described below.

Children age 8 - 12 years only!
$30 per child

Granny has three main rules: (and a few others)

1. Your child must want to do this & love to write!
2. Your child must be attentive & not disruptive!
3. Your child must like "teaming" with other children!

Granny has a few other rules that will be presented in the workshop - fun rules that everyone will like!

Parents may stay in the area, but NOT in the workshop. Feel free to use this time for chores and errands if you prefer, but make sure Granny can reach you. ABSOLUTELY NO CELL PHONE USE IS ALLOWED DURING THE WORKSHOP! Kid phones will be turned OFF!

Presentations & Workshopsfor Adult Writers:

A Pen in Hand is Worth $2 in Your Pocket
From a desk in the corner of your bedroom to your name in lights on Broadway is a long, hard road -- but writing can be worth every penny -- if you have a plan. (30-45 minute presentation)

The Magical Mystery Box
This fun-filled, interactive workshop is full of surprises.  The objects inside the magical mystery boxes provided by the presentor help stimulate the creative process of writing.  It is a fun way to remove cobwebs from the brain and spark a renewed interest in your writing.  (1 hour presentation or half day workshop)

Simply Scentsational
You'll have to keep your eyes closed a lot during this workshop.  It is aromatherapy, feng shui, and zen for the writer's mind. When your eyes are open to new possibilities, your writing can take off in many directions. (1 hour presentation or half day workshop)

Writing Workshops for Children:
(Check schedules on Calendar page of this site)

Hook, Line, and Sinker
From beginning to end, your child will have lots of fun with this creative and very interactive workshop.  A story's first sentence, all the lines in between, and the ending line are equally important.  Children will create a short story and learn simple techniques for making covers and binding their works of art.
(3-Part Workshop held over three consecutive weeks on Saturday afternoon - Summer Event ONLY. Each Part is four hours in duration.)

The Magical Mystery Box
You never know what fun little objects will appear in the magical boxes of the color-coded tables in this workshop.  This is a creative writing experience and team building exercise for young writers (or want-to-be writers).  The color-coded team members each play a part in writing a complete short story.  The finale is the most fun as they try to make all the team stories come together.
(2-Part Half Day Workshops  - Two Saturday afternoons only. Each workshop is 3 hours.)

Business Workshops:

BOOTH CAMP
Once in a while you have to show off and sell yourself, your product, or your service at a trade show or conference.  If you have others helping you (employees, customers, vendors) it is important to have everyone marching to the same cadence.  When Sarge Lipscomb enters the room, she gives the orders and everyone pays attention.  It is the best basic training you and your troops will ever experience.  (Half day or full day workshop)
